Tour 6
Full day jeep tour and Climbing Burdah Bridge
With two nights in the camp
Burdah Rock Bridge is the highest rock arch within the Protected Area (you should see it on your jeep tour the previous day from a distance) It is perched about 80m above surrounding rock.
It can be viewed from the ground in a couple of spots but nothing beats the climb to the top where you can walk across the bridge and soak up the magnificent scenery.
Day 1 – Full Day Jeep Tour
You do the full day jeep tour starting at your meeting point in Wadi Rum village where you transfer to the guide’s 4 x 4 car. First up you head to Lawrence’s Spring, then to the red sand dune for a panoramic view, Lawrence’s House, the mushroom rock, sighting of the Burdah Rock Bridge, then on to the smaller but no less enjoyable, Um Frouth, a large arch you can climb up if you don’t mind heights.
After the adventures of the day you are driven to the camp. There you have time to relax or explore the immediate area and take in the sunset before dinner. A traditional Bedouin dinner is served in the communal tent. After dinner you are welcome to relax by the fire before you head to bed.
Day 2 – Hike Burdah Bridge
After breakfast you go by jeep to the bottom of Jebel Burdah. To hike up and down is approximately two hours. A guide will accompany you on the climb and after you descend prepare a lunch with some refreshing sweet tea. In the early afternoon head back to the camp and enjoy the simple pleasures of the desert for the remainder of the afternoon.
Enjoy the sunset from the rocks, relaxing before a Bedouin style dinner.
The following morning after breakfast you return to the village for your onward journey.
